Spice up your life with the TJ Tourist

Spicy and sweet is a combination that foodies are familiar with at this point, but when it comes to cocktails, this concept is most often seen using tequila as the base alcohol.

In this drink, I used the St. George Green Chile vodka with extra heat from the muddled jalapeño, then cooled the flavor down a little with the fresh strawberries, lemon juice and agave.

The TJ Tourist
2 oz      St. George Green Chile Vodka
2           Strawberries
2 slices Jalapeño
.25 oz   Agave Syrup
.5 oz     Lemon Juice

Muddle jalapeño and strawberries with lemon juice and agave syrup. Add green chile vodka, then shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass over ice, and garnish with two slices of jalapeño and half a strawberry.

Note: If you're unable to find green chile vodka, add a little extra jalapeño as needed. Also, since the heat of jalapeños can vary greatly, always double check the drink before serving it to someone.
