Off the Mapp Blog honored with second place award at San Diego Press Club

I am honored to announce that Off the Mapp has won the second place prize in the category of "Topic Based Blogs" in the San Diego Press Club 48th Annual Excellence in Journalism Awards.

Last night, we celebrated all of this year's awards winners with our local journalism colleagues during a banquet at the International Houses in Balboa Park, and dined on an array of tastes from restaurants throughout San Diego County.

In addition to the award in the blog category, I also received a third place award in the "Travel - International" category for my blog article on taking a train to Sedlec Ossuary outside of Prague, as well as an honorable mention in the "Travel - Domestic" category for my blog article on Redwood National Park.

Thank you so much to the San Diego Press Club for honoring me during this year's contest, and congratulations to all of the winners!
