Off the Mapp wins first place in 2023 Society of Professional Journalists San Diego Pro Chapter awards
Lauren J. Mapp |
This year's awards banquet was held on June 20 at Stone Brewing Co. in Liberty Station, where our chapter welcomed more than 160 guests to celebrate the best of local journalism published in 2022. Last night was also the final event of my two-term tenure as a member of the SPJ San Diego board.
During my four years working to uphold the standards of ethical journalism throughout the region as a board member, I have enjoyed mentoring student journalists, organizing events like the annual banquet and selecting our scholarship honorees each year.
I'm so thankful to all who voted me into office, and to this year's judges from the Press Club of Long Island for selecting my work to be honored.
